Richard Weatherly OAM describes his art as an extension of his commitment to conservation and the environment. His paintings are based on the familiarity of firsthand exposure, and many are allegorical or carry a subtle message.

Richard has held solo exhibitions of sculptures and paintings in Africa, London and at Australian Galleries- Melbourne. He was the founding president and is a Life Fellow of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia and a past Vice -President of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists. His paintings are held in institutions, public and private collections throughout the world. In 2015 he was awarded a Medal in the Order of Australia for contributions to the visual arts and to conservation.
